Kwun Tong Town Centre Project



	Question 9 : Some buildings have become dilapidated due to lack of maintenance while waiting for redevelopment. How will the URA help these owners?



	Answer : It is expected that the implementation of the Kwun Tong Town Centre project will take quite a long time due to scale and complexity of project. Owners of the properties located within the project site should take up the responsibility of building maintenance in order to prevent building decay and imposing danger to the public. The URA has implemented building rehabilitation schemes to help owners to carry out building rehabilitation work on a voluntary basis. These include material incentives (for those receiving statutory orders) or interest-free loan (for those not receiving statutory orders). Compassionate grants (maximum $10,000) may be considered for owners in genuine financial difficulties.Please refer to the URA's Building Rehabilitation Materials Incentive Scheme and Building Rehabilitation Loan Scheme for details.
