The Kwun Tong Town Centre project is one of the redevelopment
projects announced but not yet commenced by the Land Development Corporation in
1998. Occupying a site area of 570,000 square feet, this multi-billion-dollar
project will be the largest single project undertaken by the Urban Renewal
Authority (URA) affecting about 1,656 property interests and about 5,000 people.
The URA plans to commence the statutory town planning approval process for the
project before March 2007.
Because of the very large scale and
complexity of the project, the URA will work closely with the local community to
ensure that the views of all important stakeholders are fully taken into
consideration in the project planning process.
The Kwun Tong District

the URA organised a design community workshop for over 100 participants from the
Kwun Tong community and other sectors to articulate their aspirations and
innovations on the future design of the Kwun Tong Town Centre redevelopment

Urban Renewal Authority today (30 March 2007) announced the commencement of its
biggest ever project - redevelopment of the Kwun Tong Town Centre - by
conducting a freezing survey of the estimated 4,500 residents who will now have
the long-awaited opportunity to improve their living standard through
compensation and rehousing.
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA)
has submitted the development scheme plans of the Kwun Tong Town Centre project
to the Town Planning Board (TPB), signifying commencement of the statutory
planning procedures for the mega project.
On 7 September 2007, the TPB
considered the development scheme plans of the Kwun Tong Town Centre project. On
5 October 2007, upon TPB旧 endorsement, the development scheme plans were
exhibited for public inspection. Written representations could be addressed to
