Operation Building Bright 2.0

To safeguard public safety, the Chief Executive announced in her Policy Address 2017 that the Government would earmark $3 billion to implement Operation Building Bright 2.0 (OBB2.0). OBB 2.0 is a one-off subsidy scheme aims to provide direct technical and financial assistance to those private residential or composite buildings aged 50 or above which are of a relatively low average rateable value of domestic units. The Government has partnered with Urban Renewal Authority (URA) to implement OBB2.0 to assist building owners in complying with Mandatory Building Inspection Scheme (MBIS) requirements.
