Project commencement was gazetted on 21 February 2014.
The SDEV has considered the project and the related information and authorized the URA to proceed with the project without any amendment on 15 November 2014. The SDEV's decision was published in the Gazette on 28 November 2014.
Appeal period ended on 29 December 2014 and no appeal was received. The URA issued offers to owners to acquire the affected property interests on 27 February 2015. Cash compensation or rehousing to eligible tenants were provided upon successful acquisition of the properties.

Targeted completion by 2022/2023.
The Castle Peak Road / Un Chau Street project is implemented in accordance with the "Urban Renewal Strategy" ("URS") (2011) which includes the flat-for-flat option to be offered as an additional option to cash compensation to the domestic owner-occupiers. They can consider taking cash compensation or using it to buy a new flat-for-flat in-situ in the new development or in the same district or in the Kai Tak development.
