Community Service Partnership Scheme

Community Service Partnership Scheme

The URA has launched a community service partnership scheme (CSPS) as a platform for collaboration with universities and NGOs to serve the underprivileged groups in the old districts through volunteer services, while at the same time promote service learning of the young people. We have been helping to improve the living environment of the old districts through our core businesses in redevelopment and building rehabilitation. Our staff is dedicated to work for the well-being of the residents in these dilapidated areas, and hope to contribute more to the community through this scheme. Since 2012, the Scheme has partnered with 11 universities and NGOs and has accumulated a total of more than 1,500 volunteers. The team served the community for more than 11,000 hours through different activities.

With an aim to improve the living environment of residents in old districts, volunteers from the URA and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The University of Hong Kong and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology joined the Upcycling Project to upcycle abandoned wood materials into tailor-made furniture for low-income families in old district.
