Urban Renewal Exploration Centre

Since its opening in August 2009, the Urban Renewal Exploration Centre (UREC) has provided students, community organisations and the general public with information about urban renewal in Hong Kong. The UREC was relocated to H6 CONET in late 2017 and completed a full renovation in 2026 for enhancement of the facilities and content. Through a combination of display panels with interactive multimedia exhibits, the UREC presents urban renewal strategies, processes, and future blueprint, enabling the public to gain an in-depth understanding of urban renewal from multiple perspectives and to learn about the roles and responsibilities of various stakeholders.

The UREC also offers docent service for eligible organisations and groups, allowing participants to appreciate local characteristics, and understand the URA’s efforts in urban renewal firsthand.

Visits to the UREC and docent service are by available by online reservation. Interested parties may submit their requests through the online platform.
