Invitation for Expression of Interest for Development of Kwun Tong Town Centre Project

The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) will invite interested parties to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the development of a residential-cum-retail and commercial project in two designated development areas of its mega-scale Kwun Tong Town Centre project starting from tomorrow (Tuesday).  The project is the largest redevelopment project ever undertaken by the Authority since its establishment.

The two areas being put up for development are Development Areas 2 and 3 which occupy a site of about 21,754 square metres bounded by Yue Man Square, Hong Ning Road, Mut Wah Street and Hip Wo Street in Kwun Tong.  The new development in the two areas will comprise a total residential gross floor area of 138,980 square metres providing about 1,700 residential units, together with a gross floor area of about 14,420 square metres for retail purpose, a two-level public transport interchange, a hawker bazaar, a refuse collection point and public open spaces of 6,400 square metres.

In view of the mega size and complexity of the Kwun Tong Town Centre project with a total project site area of over 5.35 hectares and entailing the acquisition of some 1,650 property interests, the URA in 2007 decided to implement the five development areas by phases.  This will also help sustaining its vibrancy throughout the development process.

Parties interested in the development of Development Areas 2 and 3 of the Kwun Tong Town Centre Project are requested to submit their development experience and financial capability to undertake the development in accordance with the requirements and criteria set by the URA.

Submissions should be made to the URA Headquarters at 26/F, COSCO Tower, 183 Queen's Road Central, not later than 5:00 p.m. on 8 April 2014 (Tuesday).

A tender review panel under the URA Board will shortlist qualified companies and invite them to submit tenders for the development project later.
