Responses by URA to Government Motion on Support and Rebuilding Work after the Fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po

In response to the Government Motion on support and rebuilding work after the fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, which was tabled at the Legislative Council today (14 January 2026), a spokesperson for the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) stated that the URA has been working closely with the Government to enhance support for building owners and owners’ corporations (OCs) in organising building maintenance projects.

With regard to the Government’s proposed measures to further strengthen the URA’s “Smart Tender” service to better assist owners and OCs in tendering and appointing consultants and contractors for building maintenance works, the URA fully supports the initiatives and will carry out detailed study and explore implementation arrangement in collaboration with the Government.
